A day of thinking about the history and future of Biomedical Engineering Research

This event is a special lecture held mainly by Iwasaki Laboratory of Waseda University School of Science and Technology.

Professor Emeritus Mitsuo Umetsu, who has led biomedical engineering research through the fusion of different fields for many years and has nurtured many researchers and engineers, gave a special lecture.Professor Kiyotaka Iwasaki gave a presentation on 'The Challenge of Creating Future Medical Care in Iwasaki Laboratory', a research presentation, and a tour of the laboratory's experimental facilities.

We will not only look back on our research so far, but also look at what value we will create in the future while inheriting the history and philosophy of the laboratory.The event was held as a place to think about the future.

At the FIRST robot competition, which I usually participate in, I often have you look mainly at the performance of robots and strategy in the game, but this time I will introduce the medical engineering.It was an opportunity to introduce our activities to people who are interested in research and university research activities.

What I especially learned this time was the difficulty and importance of not only making robots, but also communicating those robots and activities to people.

There are many things that you don't understand for the first time, such as the mechanism of the robot that we take for granted, and the activities of the team.There are many.

Therefore, it is necessary to change the way of explanation according to the other party, rather than telling the professional explanation as it is.
