Hello everyone. Yabusame Technology.
This time, I will tell you about the rules of the 2026 FTC game that will be participating next year!
All FTC competition rulebooks are written in English and are over 150 pages long.
Here, I will briefly introduce the rules of next year's game in Japanese.
2026 FIRST Tech Challenge "DECODE"

This year's FTC themedecodeThat's right.
FTC creates different rules every year, just like FRC. This year is a game that unravels missions related to world heritage.
Let's take a closer look at the rules.

game area

This year's game area is shaped like the one pictured above.
Field Size
The size of the field is square, and the vertical and horizontal are 144 in (365.75 cm).
Also, they are made up of 36 tiles.
During the match, the team members enter a zone called 'Alliance Area' (243.85 cm x 137.15 cm) and put the ball into the robot or operate it.
・Inside the tiles are 'BASE ZONE - RED' and 'BASE ZONE - BLUE', and a frame that is large enough to fit a large robot is drawn. Teams can earn additional points by moving the robot to the 'Base Zone' of their respective teams at the end.
・Also, 'Loading Zone' allows you to move the robot and load a color ball into the robot by human hand.

Ball
It will be placed in one set with 3 balls for competition, 3 sets in the field, 1 set in the 'Loading Zone', and 2 sets per team.
The set of balls consists of 2 purples and 1 yellow green, and the order of sorting is irregular.
Nearly all points can be obtained by throwing the ball in, and in that sense, handling the ball becomes very important.

The FTC game area is smaller than the FRC, and is characterized by the fact that it is easy to see the entire game.
round flow
In the round, the 'Alliance', which consists of two teams, fight each other, and the team with high points wins. 1 round of game time 2 minutes 30 seconds It's time.

During the match, as mentioned above, two randomly assigned teams will fight as one 'Alliance'.
Let's take a closer look at the actual flow.
① The game starts!
(2) The first 30 secondsRobot runs automaticallyand cannot be controlled by hand.
(3) After 30 seconds, you can maneuver by hand. Collect the balls by maneuvering the robotThe balls you collect
You can put it in the goal by firing it.
(4) By the time the round ends, the robot will'BASE ZONE'must return to
Points will be added depending on whether or not you have properly entered the zone.
⑤The game ends after 2 minutes and 30 seconds from the start.
⑥ After the round is over, the winning team will be added to the ranking points and will be able to proceed to the next round.
The game is very short and can be quickly settled.
How to score
There are three main ways to score. Scores are mainly used with the ball.
1. Put the ball into the goal in order

The QR codes that indicate the order in which the balls should be arranged are listed in the structure shown in the picture above.
It's good for the robot to recognize this QR code, automatically change the order of the balls, and throw them into the goal, and check with the human eye. It is said that it is also good to insert the ball into the robot in order by hand in the 'Loading Zone' and throw it into the goal.
This structure is randomly changed by referee every round. This means that different QR codes are used each match and the order of colors specified will also be changed.

The photo above shows 'Goal'. You can earn points by throwing a ball at the top of this 'Goal'.

As you can see in the photo above, the inside of the goal is connected to the exit, and the ball that enters the goal is stuck at the exit called 'GATE' through the exit of the iron pipe.

This gate can store up to 12 balls, and when more balls are thrown into the goal, they are swept over the stored balls out of the outlet.
The robot pushes this gate into structure, and the balls stored in the outlet are released into the field.

The score is ・Throw the ball into the goal ('Artifacts'):3 points per piece
・Put the ball in the goal, but outside the release school
It flows out. ('Overflow Artifacts':1 point per piece
・After the round is finished, it is the same as the specified color order.
We were able to put the ball into the goal in turn. :2 points per piece
・Collaborate with the team to fill the outlet with the ball
is ready. 1 ranking point per time

If the ball is thrown in as shown in the picture above, since there are 5 balls with the same color as the specified color, the points earned are10 pointsIt will be.
For any scoring method, it is important to throw the ball into the goal in order.
As mentioned above, almost all the scores are done using the ball.
In addition to the ball, you can also operate the robot itself to earn points.
2. Move the robot to the specified location

The robot must return to the 'Base Zone' of the color of its Alliance by the end of the round. The size of 'BASE ZONE' is about 45 cm in length and width, and it is large enough to fit a robot.
The score is ・When the round ends, some of the robots
It's on top of 'BASE ZONE'. :5 points
・When the round ends, the robot
Everything is above the 'Base Zone'. :10 points
・When the round ends, 'Alliance'
Both of the two robots (my team)
All of the aircraft is on top of the 'Base Zone'. ::10 bonus points
It's very difficult to get the final points, but if you can get it, you can make a big difference to the opposing team. The photo below shows how to park the robot as a reference. You can see how difficult it is because the size of 'BASE ZONE' is about the size of a robot that can be stopped.

You can earn points by the method below, although the main points are the method of scoring introduced so far.
3. Control the robot automatically and win the round
・At the end of the round, the robot must return to their team's 'Base Zone'.
However, in that case, it is not maneuvering using human hands,Automatic maneuvering by the robot itselfcome back with
If you come,1 Ranking Pointscan be obtained.
・At the end of the roundgot the most points'Alliance' won the round,
3 ranking pointscan be obtained.
The above is a rough explanation of the game rules of FTC 2026. The rules have changed significantly compared to last year's competition, but I want to work hard and create a good robot.
We would appreciate it if we could post about the robot plans we are thinking about now. We will also be posting the activities and progress of the team on this blog, so please take a look.
Thank you very much for watching this far.
