FTC Japan Team booth at the FLL (FIRST LEGO LEAGUE) National convention held at the Tokyo International Exchange Hall in Odaiba on 2/15 (Sun). It was a very different tournament from the FTC, and the level of the team was very high. This time, I will report on the state of it.
What is FLL?
FLL is a tournament with a history that began in 1998 with a partnership between FIRST, an American NPO (an organization that hosts FTC) and Lego Corporation in Denmark. The participants are 6-16 years old (1st grade elementary school to 1st grade high school), and the game will be played using a field made of lego bricks and a robot.
The competition consists of a robot game in which a robot is actually used to complete a mission and earn points, and a robot game in which his team studies and robots according to the theme. There are two of the presentations about bots.FLL has a theme similar to FTC, and this time the theme is 'DECODE'.Robot games will be related to the theme.

In FLL, regional qualifiers will be held in each of the four districts nationwide (Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Tokyo).Only 40 teams that have won in them can compete in the national tournament. The top teams that have won the national tournament will be given a chance to qualify for the World Tournament.
The national tournament was held at the Tokyo International Exchange Center in Odaiba, Tokyo, and a booth for each team was also set up in the hall.
There were 36 FLL teams from Japan and 1 FLL team from Kazakhstan.I will introduce the state of it.

FTC Booth

At Yabusame Technology, we exhibited a booth to introduce FTC.
At the booth, videos and posters were used to explain the FTC and the activities of Yabusame. We also exhibited the robots that fought at this year's FTC Korea Games.
I was able to get the flyers one after another, and I was able to get many people to know about the activities. Many people were interested in the activities of Yabusame Technology.
We also had exchanges with the FLL team and the FGC team in Japan who participated in the tournament.I was able to hear various stories and it was a very stimulating time.
Even though the generation and category are different, the feelings of 'I like robots' and 'I want to challenge' are common, and I want to strengthen the connection of the FIRST community again. It was a great experience for me.
Participation as a FLL staff
3 Yabusame Technology members also participated as FLL staff at this national convention.
1 person is the referee of the robot game, 1 person is the timekeeper of the presentation review, and 1 person is the management staff of the practice rangeIt was a great opportunity for me to be a part of the team.
Having experienced not only being involved in the competition as a participant and exhibitor, but also supporting the competition as an operator, I was able to see how much support FLL has received from so many people.I felt that it was a good idea.We have a responsibility to protect the fairness of the game, consideration to maximize the efforts of the team in a limited time, and countless engineering behind the tournament.I have feelings with my husband.
Through this experience, I learned once again that the FIRST community is not only a 'place to compete' but also a 'place to support each other.'
Through this exhibition, I feel that I was able to deliver the charm of FTC and the initiatives of Yabusame Technology to many people.
I also feel that we have taken a step towards supporting the games as members of the community.
We will continue to value these opportunities and contribute to the spread of FTC and FRC and the promotion of STEM education.
