Robot Returns to Japan, Taking a New Step Forward

Hello everyone, this is Yabusame Technology.
Perhaps because Korea was so cold, I've even been feeling the heat since returning to Japan lately. How have you all been?
Having returned just two days ago, the excitement from the tournament still lingers, yet we are already taking our next step forward.

Robot delivery

Just because the competition ended and we returned to Japan doesn't mean our activities are over.
We transported the robot by train from a temporary storage area near the airport to our workshop, where we conduct our activities, for use in future events like activity reports.

We packed it with a large amount of cushioning material, so no major damage was found on the robot. We built it to be sturdy enough to withstand collisions with other robots, so that design feature may have worked well in this case.

Transporting the robot proved extremely difficult by train, as it was packed inside a large wooden crate measuring about 50cm square.
We attempted moving it on a dolly, but even on paved roads, the dolly's plastic wheels produced a deafening roar, like tearing through the air.
Weighing about 20kg, this was also a good lesson that robots should not be transported on public transit.

While this might seem like a rather negative experience, since the robot was meticulously crafted by our supporters, we carried it back with great care.
As a result, we successfully transported the robot to the workshop.

Activity Report

Thank you so much for your generous support this year.
Now that the event has concluded, we plan to provide an activity report about the event to all our supporters.

We plan to deliver this activity report primarily through the following four methods.
(※Corporate sponsors, please see method #4: Activity Report for Corporate Sponsors.)

1. Activity Report Meeting

We plan to hold our annual activity report meeting again this year.
Here, we will provide detailed explanations about the competition, including information and results that couldn't be covered on the blog.
Members will give presentations using photos and share many behind-the-scenes stories about robot construction.

As usual, the venue will be the Bunkyo Civic Center.
※Last year's activity report meeting is documented in past blog posts. Please take a look if you're interested.

2.Activity Report (Crowdfunding Rewards)

We will also be conducting this as usual each year.
By reviewing the activity reports included among the crowdfunding rewards, you can learn more about us and the event.
We received support from many people through crowdfunding. Thank you very much indeed.
The crowdfunding campaign, which concluded on January 26, 2026, ultimately received ¥414,000 in support from 18 backers.

We fell short of our funding goal, but your support has been a tremendous boost to our activities.
Since this crowdfunding campaign uses an all-in model, you will still receive your rewards even if the goal wasn't met. Rest assured.

The above is a report on the activities we are planning. We kindly ask for your continued understanding and cooperation with our activities.

For next season

This year is drawing to a close. With this year's tournaments now concluded, we have already begun preparations for the next year.

Our upcoming activities are as follows:

  • FLL Exhibition
We plan to exhibit at the FLL (FIRST Lego League) Japan Championship held at the Tokyo International Exchange Center on February 15th to introduce our activities. We exhibited last year as well and received positive feedback from many attendees.
  • FTC Japan Wiki Writing Activities
During our trip, discussions were held among the FTC Japan teams that competed this year to collaborate on outreach activities with the goal of promoting FTC awareness going forward. As part of this, our team has taken on the responsibility of editing the FTC Japan Wiki, an explanatory website. We have already reached the stage of brainstorming ideas within the team and aim to contribute to further enhancing FTC's social recognition.
  • Participation in the FTC and FRC
This year, we participated in FTC due to team circumstances, but we intend to return to FRC next year. Compared to FTC, FRC is significantly larger in scale and demands a high level of knowledge and skill in both funding and technical aspects. Therefore, we will implement reforms to our team structure early on to ensure we are fully prepared for next year's competition.

We are also planning various activities behind the scenes for next year. Please look forward to them.

In conclution

Thank you for reading our blog this far. We apologize for the large amount of information.

We sincerely thank you for supporting our activities up to this point. We extend our gratitude to everyone involved.

Next year, we will build on this year's experience to become an even better team. We appreciate your continued support.
