About Us

Yabusame Technology is a cross-school organization of middle and high school students based in Tokyo, working to compete in one of the world’s largest robotics competitions, the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC).

Currently, 11 students from 5 different schools are participating in the team.

The team was founded in the 2023 season under the name Hibana Technology, and in April 2024, we successfully competed in the Hawaii Regional.

Inspired by Yabusame, a traditional Japanese sport in which archers focus their spirit on a target and release an arrow, the team renamed itself Yabusame Technology for the 2024 season. The new name reflects our determination to unite as a team, pursue further growth, and charge forward toward the ultimate goal—the World Championship.

Yabusame Technology is a team driven by passionate middle and high school students who take initiative in everything they do, and our determination to make the most of our abilities is second to none.

Rather than relying easily on the help of adults, we believe in our own potential and operate as a student-led team.

Student centered

By engaging in team management, fundraising, robot development, and giving back to the local community beyond the boundaries of individual school communities—all led by middle and high school students—we foster independence and a strong sense of social responsibility among our members.

diversity

Currently, students from a total of five schools in Tokyo are participating in the team.
By building a team that embraces diversity, we aim to create an environment where everyone respects each other’s differences and can fully express their individual strengths and personalities.

Promoting SteAm education

Regardless of prior experience in robot building, all members collaborate in hands-on manufacturing, sharing and spreading the joy of making things.
Through activities such as giving back to the local community, we also contribute to the promotion of STEAM education.

*STEAM education refers to an educational approach that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics.
